The Executive
He looks dapper in his suit. His face is buried in his Blackberry. If he can afford the newest BB Bold, he can definitely afford a data plan.. So he isn't here for the wi-fi. For the coffee perhaps? Nah, someone who loves coffee wouldn't order a frappe. He'd order a straight up espresso.
The Socially Responsible
He's definitely here for the newspaper. Though he could also be here just to find someone to share his opinions on politics and what-have-you's in the world today. He's the person you wanna avoid if you haven't been paying attention to current events, all the more established a stand about them. He's the type who'd debate with a stranger. But kudos to him for giving a damn about the government and for bringing his own eco-bag so there won't be a need for non biodegradable plastic bags or tree killer paper bags.
The Socialite
She's not here for the coffee. She's here to show she can afford expensive coffee everyday. See how many stamps she's already got?
The Bookworms
They're here to read and get their fix of espresso. Good for them for continuously feeding their minds but for just a few shots of the dark beverage, they linger for a few hours too many.
College Peeps
Wi-fi. That's what they're here for. They order a cup of coffee each and stay til the end of the day.
The Virtual Socializers
Also here for the wi-fi. They are on their Ipads and tablets playing online games, tweeting, poking friends and all that sort of cyber stuff.
The Blogger
I would put her under virtual socializer but she isn't really socializing. She's just keeping tabs of her thoughts. She's wondering why she couldn't bother herself with a newspaper and be more proactive with her social responsibilities. She's wondering if she soon can land a job that could afford her with nice suits and expensive coffee. She's wondering why she didn't think of downloading e-books to read while in between interviews or killing time in a coffee shop. She's wondering why instead of e-mailing companies with her resume, she's observing strangers and blogging about them. Some people wouldn't get this girl. But I do. By knit picking strangers, she gets to take a good look at herself and see where she stands with the rest of the world.
