Life is a poker game... sort of

Some of the things I use as I go through life, I've learned in the poker table.

Bet big to win big.
Life is about risks. Bigger investments see bigger returns.

Know when to fold.
Recognize when your hand has exhausted its potential. Know when to cut your losses. It pays to be persistent but if you look at the other end of the track, it also costs to be persistent. Let go. It's better sometimes.

Bluff.
Not with your muffin.. like Lady Gaga who is bluffin' with her "muffin". Lol. In poker, winners are one or all of three things--lucky, skilled or able to fake one or both. Outside the context of the game, you may say that's lying but here's how I put it. You're simply faking it until you're strong enough to lay it in the open, until you're strong enough to handle having your vulnerabilities exposed. Fake it until you make it.

Wait for your moment.
Statistically speaking, you are on the losing end of a poker game 85% of the time. Wait for your moment, your 15%. That is the time to rake in the big bucks. There is such a thing as a the perfect timing. Thrive when it matters most. Excel when it matters most. Kick ass in your strongest stilettos.

Explore the hand you are dealt with.
Your hand may change with the flop, the turn or the river. In poker, you are limited to that. That is, you can only play with the hands you were dealt with. In life however, you can put into play the cards up your sleeve. (Winks)

Bet on a miracle.
God is too busy to sit through a poker game, steering chance in your favor but He's never busy sorting the deck of life into place. No matter how many times you shuffle a deck of cards, it will never rearrange to its original order. The second law of thermodynamics (aka the law of entropy) says so. Life, however, isn't driven by thermodynamics or any other physical law. Some omnipotent law will allow things to fall into place. You can bet on it.
Xxoo

Disclaimer: I am neither good in poker nor in life. I'm just bored and thought I could put life on a poker player's perspective. Kthnxbye.
